PSX Brasil's Reviews

Aug 30, 2023

Although not the version expected by many players, Red Dead Redemption shows strength as one of the best games of all time. The 2023 version is the most stable option, but it could be much better.

The Making of Karateka is a history lesson. A round package for those who want to know the first works of Jordan Mechner. The making of part is great and bringing in the different versions is essential for preservation. However, for those who seek gameplay and do not care about this historical side, you may be disappointed that we only have basically two very short games. In addition, there are no texts in Portuguese of Brazil, which hinders the accessibility of the material.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is largely more of the same and we love it for just that. Players well acquainted with the adventures of Zoya, Pontius and Amadeus know exactly what to expect and will surely leave satisfied. For those who do not know, here is the chance to embark on a magical world full of puzzles. The experience is even better when shared with friends, whether it's at the local co-op or online.

95 / 100 - Quake II
Aug 28, 2023

Quake II is a great remaster, with content to spare and impeccable work to bring a classic back. The multiplayer is fun, especially the entire campaign in the co-op.

90 / 100 - Sea of Stars
Aug 28, 2023

With well-done writing, dynamic battles, and luxurious pixel art adorned by vivid lighting, Sea of Stars passes the test of being a retro and modern turn-based RPG at once retro. We can still notice some outdated little legacies of the genre, but that doesn't affect the enjoyment of embarking as young heroes to save the world in an epic and witty campaign worthy of the new old days.

75 / 100 - Madden NFL 24
Aug 25, 2023

Madden NFL 24 is a great sports game limited by a number of small issues that affect the experience considerably. While previous complaints have been resolved and clear improvements are seen in the gameplay, the game modes and menus either follow the same or have receded and, along with some lingering points, limit the potential of the title.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon has an excellent, complex gameplay with numerous possibilities to assemble your mecha and playstyle. However, it's also a title that doesn't realize its potential with the story, with the online and a series of decisions that could make the experience more enjoyable. It's certainly a great game, but it could have achieved a much higher level of excellence.

Immortals of Aveum gets it right by bringing a new experience to the genre of first-person shooters. It has a fast combat, is full of good ideas and options. If your intention is to take control and destroy your enemies with powerful spells, I would say that Immortals of Aveum can guarantee good times.

85 / 100 - Fort Solis
Aug 22, 2023

Fort Solis delivers an immersive cinematic experience, enriched by exceptional voice performances, stunning graphics, and elements like audio and video that amplify the narrative. The exploration, collectibles, and gradual reveal of the plot add to the suspense, while excellent visuals and animations are highlighted, though the movement can be occasionally stalled. Even though it's relatively brief, Fort Solis offers a memorable journey into its unique universe.

75 / 100 - Save Koch
Aug 21, 2023

Save Koch can be an exciting and challenging journey through the criminal underworld, where each choice can determine your fate and each session brings a unique move. However, be prepared to face limitations due to few and simple mechanics in the game and possible technical problems.

Inspired by Nintendo's timeless classic, Oceanhorn 2 fails to outperform its predecessor and ends up in the shadows of Breath of the Wild. The combat fought and the lack of small improvements in quality of life end up making the experience a little frustrating, however its puzzles are interesting and fun along with a beautiful world to explore. A good choice for fans of the BotW formula or who are just looking for a good game of the genre.

85 / 100 - EVERSPACE 2
Aug 19, 2023

Changing its style of play from what it was previously, EVERSPACE 2 delivers much more freedom to the player and improvements to the great gameplay it has. It still falls short in delivering a simplified and uninspired story and narrative, but it excels at good combat and exploration.

80 / 100 - Boxville
Aug 18, 2023

Modest, beautiful and simply human, Boxville offers a point and click adventure that needs no words to satisfy the puzzle gameplay and emotional connection. The story of a tin can looking for its missing dog takes us on a short walk through the daily life of a handmade city and hits the setting with its beautiful hand-painted art, but that can lead to the frustration of eventually getting stuck in puzzles and compromising the fluidity of progress – a common problem in the genre.

Quantum: Recharged recreates the '80s classic while retaining its key features, but also adding new mechanics to make it more responsive and challenging. It is a game worth checking out if you are a fan of Atari and also a good option to play with friends in the local cooperative.

95 / 100 - Moving Out 2
Aug 11, 2023

With improved mechanics, a variety of challenges, unique humor full of current references, and a strong emphasis on cooperation, Moving Out 2 stands out as a title that elevates the experience of the original to new heights. The game proves that change can be a good thing, especially when it comes to providing uninterrupted and chaotic fun. It certainly deserves a prominent place in its collection of games.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is a unique and captivating experience thanks to the strength of its characters and how well-written its narrative is. The very good songs and great work by its cast result in a singular title capable of holding the attention of everyone who gives it a chance.

65 / 100 - Atlas Fallen
Aug 9, 2023

Showing good ideas with poor execution, Atlas Fallen is an action RPG with flaws, strange decisions and an underused universe in many ways. It is a better experience when enjoyed cooperatively, but just a decent game nowadays.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series brings back all the features we've seen before in Telltale games, both the good and the questionable. The transmedia text is great, and the rhizomatic bifurcations look promising, but combat and exploration systems remain shallow and unappealing. For fans of the genre and/or the franchise, a treat. For others, not so much.

There is no doubt that Potata: Fairy Flower is a good child-themed platform game set in a beautiful fantasy world. Unfortunately, the lackluster mechanics, lack of localization, disjointed puzzles and a bad level design do not make it stand out in a universe full of great other options.
