EA Sports FC 24 doesn't go out of its way to change too much, but it doesn't need to – the additions to Ultimate Team, refined gameplay and nicer presentation packages make it a great football sim.

EA Sports FC 24 features the best gameplay of recent years, at an early stage of an EA football game, but the fluidity of the gameplay and the taste you derive from it arrives tainted by several parameters that will easily divide the community. The speed of the gameplay removes the feeling of speed differential in the players who really are fast, the errors of the artificial intelligence, animations and collision system, not to mention the erratic behavior of the goalkeepers and the way the values of the players in the Ultimate Team vary crazily from game to game, make the good is beset by several problems. Add to this the heightened sense of familiarity, EA Sports FC 24 is not the undisputed victory one would wish for.

Despite the name change, EA Sports FC 24 comes with basically the same flaws of the last FIFA, but we really appreciated the slower pace for the gameplay and the increased variety now possible in Ultimate Team.

After years of lazy, half-hearted Legacy Editions, EA Sports has finally delivered a football game on the Switch that offers full feature parity with other consoles. A much-needed engine upgrade trades frame rate for fidelity, but Switch owners finally have a port they can be proud of, rather than feeling like an afterthought.

It is noted that Electronic Arts decided to pause various improvements in FIFA 23, to have a greater repertoire in its new installment that is completely separated from the license of the world soccer body.

It might have a new name, but EA Sports FC 24 is just about the same, frustrating but beautiful game that FIFA's been for many years.

Most of the additions to this part aim to create a realistic experience, closer to simulation, taking free kicks has become more personalized, adding "style of play", advanced defense, and introducing many new skills that are very useful, but this trend makes the game mainly aimed at the competitive category, and makes the experience of playing with friends without trying to master every detail an incomplete experience. It's not that it's bad, it's an orientation, and I think this part is heading in the right way to create a beautiful experience for this kind of gameplay.

FC 24 is a familiar game that once again focuses on evolution over revolution. It makes some smart tweaks and additions to existing modes but they still feel mostly the same. The game looks and feels better than ever but when you aren't in control the AI often lets you down.

A reboot looks different. Only on the pitch does "EA Sports FC 24" live up to the new name and shows that there is also a spark of innovation in the game. Thanks to the new animation technology and balancing adjustments, "EA Sports FC 24" is superior to its predecessor. The action on the pitch seems more unpredictable, dynamic and authentic. Although the duels and also the playing styles could use a little fine-tuning, this innovation is good for the game. In combination with the upgraded presentation, this creates an atmospheric football experience. On the other hand, however, there is stagnation in a large part of the game modes, crowned by an even increased pay-to-win focus in Ultimate Team. EA Sports must therefore once again lend a hand to some adjusting screws and expand its career options in particular for the future.

All in all, EA FC 24 is more than 'just a FIFA 24 name change'; it's an evolution of a long-standing franchise which is attempting to appeal to new, returning and current players alike. Have they done a good job? From what we've gathered from our time reviewing it, yes. Yes, they have. Do we wish for more substantial improvements to really differentiate itself from the FIFA franchise EA Sports has been associated with throughout the years? Definitely. But will it satiate the present-day needs of having a football sim which closely reflects the current climate of the game? Sure.

Despite the criticisms and mistakes that the franchise has dragged in its period of greatest success but also of greater comfort, EA Sports FC 24 is a good football game that demonstrates the intention to grow and fulfill the fans of the most famous and passionate sport in the world. There is a lot of content that comes from previous editions and that is inevitable, but the new thing does come out and strangely fulfills the objective of making you feel inside a new football experience that does not deny its past. There are areas to attend to and improvements to consider, but overall, EA Sports FC 24 is a solid soccer proposition that won't surprise you getting to the top right away.

Sports FC 24 is not the complete departure from FIFA that its name would suggest. Most of the fundamentals remain in place and the career modes have barely been updated. Then again, Ultimate Team is the series' real money-spinner, coming with the addition of evolutions and mixed gender teams. Overall, the on-pitch gameplay is good, and you can see the extra animations enhancing the football sim, but it isn't a massive evolution of EA's flagship series.

EA Sports FC 24 has its fair share of additions. Major? No, not really. Useful? Yes, because they're mainly there to reinforce what has already been achieved, whether criticized or not, making this license one of the most popular cultural and videogame products purchased every year. That's the general feeling of EA Sports FC 24 thaht ensures its arrival and transition with efficiency.

FC 24 truly leaps in making the most realistic football game to date. From the intricate facial details to pitch wear, there is no room for errors. However, the game has minimum changes to its predecessor; just like before, the focus is on the Ultimate Team Multiplayer part instead of all game modes. Overall, apart from graphics, everything stayed the same.

EA Sports FC 24 isn't the huge departure that we'd hoped for. While Ultimate Team devotees will likely be happy, the rest of the game feels like an afterthought in the transition away from the FIFA license.

Thanks to great technological enhancements, you'll enjoy the best virtual football experience in years. It's just a shame that it's all built on tweaks. Also, all the new technology is just there to improve what we already know. But we want new modes, new experiences. And that's not here.

EA SPORTS FC 24 marks the transition to a 'new franchise name', but certainly does not mark a transition in terms of innovation and significant improvements. In terms of content, there is very little new under the sun and you really have to look for actual improvements and changes in terms of features. In terms of experience, the game has improved considerably, with particularly cool cinematics that emphasize the atmosphere. The game has also improved slightly in terms of gameplay, although the AI is still far from optimal. The tweaks that have been made are fine, but the game may also become more surprising after years of tweaks and minor adjustments. HyperMotionV is therefore more something for the stage than groundbreaking. And actually that feature was already there. However, HyperMotionV has now been made more mature and more interesting than before. The same applies to Precision Passing, I don't notice it much, just like responsive shooting, which simply doesn't bring enough innovation. EA SPORTS FC 24 is a game that does little really wrong, but also plays very 'safe'.

EA Sports FC 24 was presented as the perfect occasion for EA to hit the table. It is true that the separation of FIFA left a lot of uncertainty, but in the end it has been almost a mere formality. It has not even been noticed in the licenses, since the company still has practically all, including the men's and women's Champions League. Thus, the focus of this new saga has been able to focus on what matters, the gameplay.

EA Sports FC 24 takes a cautious approach and focuses on further improving realism. Female players will play a more prominent role in the Ultimate Team mode, bringing some changes to this popular content. Unfortunately, as a new game, it lacks significant innovation compared to FIFA 23.
