Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker Reviews
Ultimately, Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker marked the end of an era. Plot threads from A Realm Reborn onward come to a close. The story is rife with fanfare, paying homage to past expansions in ways that sometimes feel overmuch or hit in just the right way.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker concludes a near 10-year storyline and does so in a layered and symbolic way.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker reaches for the stars with its ambition and gets there--but not without a few turbulent hiccups along the way.
A great but sometimes messy send-off for a decade-long story.
Despite its clichés, as well as some excesses and pacing problems, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has memorable scenes and dialogue and consolidates the Hydaelyn-Zodiark arc as one of the best Final Fantasy stories in a rich mythology of existential, cultural and political issues. The title is highly recommended for Final Fantasy fans and is also more accessible and enchanting than ever for newcomers to the series.

Endwalker is an expansion like few seen so far, it represents the culmination of an adventure that has lasted for a decade and, treasuring all the experience gained over the years, manages to offer a challenge that involves all its users and to conclude a narrative born from the ashes of a project that risked bringing the entire Software House to the brink of bankruptcy.

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker condenses the charm and specialization of the series DNA into a single expansion that will be regarded as one of the finest Final Fantasy storylines.
"...aside from some pacing issues and a few blown payoffs, Endwalker delivers a conclusion worthy of the thousands of hours fans have poured into the game so far and plants the seeds for more adventures to come."
Though there is still much more to come from Final Fantasy XIV in the future, Endwalker is a magnificent cap on everything leading up to it and a fitting end to the story of Hydaelyn and Zodiark. The passion of the Final Fantasy XIV team and its desire to do the best that it can for the fanbase is clear, and it deserves every one of the plaudits that has come its way.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is the game's most ambitious expansion yet and feels like both a fitting ending and a new beginning all at once.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker caps off the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga in a near perfect fashion. The storytelling on display vastly outshines the hit or miss quest design. The English voice acting deserve praise for consistent performances of both old and new characters backed by great directing. The dungeons and trials are some of the best in the game that continue to offer escalating challenges while keeping to consistent visual language. Each zone has a unique visual style and tale to tell in this final chapter, despite one or two having a rather slow introduction. All rounded out by a masterwork soundtrack, this MMORPG continues to prove that it shouldn't be missed.
If you didn't like FFXIV before now, Endwalker will do nothing to change your mind. But if you're in, this emotional rollercoaster will be rolling towards a satisfying conclusion, that absolutely will not disappoint.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is the perfect sendoff to a saga that was started over a decade ago.
Though the main story is slow to ramp up in intensity, the stage is set for a dramatic conclusion in patch 6.5 — and you’ll have plenty of side content to keep you busy in the meantime.
While the main story is a little anticlimactic for a middle patch, there’s still plenty to do in this latest Final Fantasy XIV update.
Endwalker concludes Final Fantasy XIV's decade-long story - and what a story it has been.
While Endwalker fails to eclipse Shadowbringers in most areas, it succeeds in what is by far its most important mandate: properly ending this extremely long storyline in an incredibly satisfying way. It’s a solid tale from start to finish. The expansion adds beautiful new areas, well-constructed new jobs, and all in all, ticks off everything that you want a Final Fantasy XIV expansion to do with the level of polish that players have come to expect. So take a deep breath Final Fantasy XIV fans, Endwalker is fantastic.
An expansion that's better than it has any right to be, Endwalker succeeds at wrapping up a decade-long story arc providing a satisfying send-off for players.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is a satisfying conclusion to ten years' worth of stories. It is rife with hundreds of hours' worth of content, tight gameplay, and a fully realized world to explore. MMORPG and Final Fantasy fans will not want to miss out on this epic finale.
Once you're past the horrendously long queues to actually get into the game, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker was an almost flawless experience. This conclusion to a decade-long tale is told with a visual, musical and narrative artistry that isn't often seen in any medium. Endwalker doesn't quite reach the heights of earlier parts of the series, but it sure as hell ends the current arc with a bang and everyone involved with this game should feel damn proud of themselves.
