9 / 10.0 - Starfield
Sep 23, 2023

Starfield is an immense RPG, which gives the player the opportunity to be whoever they want and explore a vast universe, adapting the gameplay to their style, exploring only the mechanics they like most. It's certainly not perfect, but its flaws matter less and less as the player becomes absorbed by the immense amount of activities and content at their disposal. Starfield is an experience that shouldn't be played, but lived, and has enough content to entertain the player for years as their space life simulator.

9 / 10.0 - Moonstone Island
Sep 23, 2023

Before I started playing it, one of my fears with Moonstone Island was that it would be just another game inspired by Stardew Valley. However, Studio Supersoft's title is an excellent example of how to build on popular games and still create something unique and striking. The procedural generation of islands ensures that each adventure is unique and the various construction, management, relationship, battle and exploration mechanics help you develop an adventure the way you want. Despite some small problems, it is a more than right recommendation for players who want to enjoy a great life simulator.

Par for the Dungeon is fun, captivating, and offers an enjoyable experience with a simple yet challenging premise. The search for the perfect completion of each hole, obtaining all the medals, is an interesting motivation for players, providing a sense of achievement as they progress and also providing good gaming moments.

Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle has its problems, but it fulfills its main objective, which is to be a good survival horror game. The setting, limited inventory, secrets, and good old backtracking during the game guarantee the approval of those who like the genre, even with the frustrating combat mechanics that need more polish.

7 / 10.0 - NBA 2K24
Sep 20, 2023

If the reader is looking for casual fun, NBA 2K24 is a good option. There are many modes to play the game, with many different customization, teams and challenge options. However, if your focus is competitive matches, it's necessary to pay attention to your connection and the wallet. Maybe if the visual production was cutting-edge, we would have more reasons to overlook these issues but unfortunately it ends up as a suggestion only for fans of the basketball franchise and sports games in general.

8 / 10.0 - Wandering Sword
Sep 20, 2023

Wandering Sword draws attention due to its beautiful audiovisual elements and its challenging combat. Its 2D HD graphics and soundtrack are spectacular, creating a unique setting for this adventure inspired by Chinese culture. The different styles of martial arts create a varied, dynamic combat that hardly falls into the same, although the grid structure doesn't help much. For the most enthusiastic, changing the turn-based system to real time is a feature that will certainly please. If you have good knowledge of English, we recommend a fun and captivating RPG.

9 / 10.0 - Mortal Kombat 1
Sep 19, 2023

Mortal Kombat 1 doesn't offer a big evolution from its predecessor and maybe it doesn't even have that intention. What matters is that the core is maintained: sharp gameplay and visuals worthy of the current console gen. The Story and Invasion [modes] are great ideas that may have a few issues but there's no hiding the curiosity to know the future roads this journey will take.

8 / 10.0 - Lies of P
Sep 19, 2023

The rich setting of a city that has succumbed to its own ambitions is a great highlight in Lies of P, even though its potential is partially undermined by the gray and opaque look that permeates the landscapes. Likewise, the commitment to refined level design loses some of its luster due to the strict linearity of the campaign. The biggest problem lies with the bosses, their fights are always long and disproportionate to all the challenges posed by the region under their control. Therefore, it is difficult to recommend it as a gateway to soulslike, a genre famous for its punishing combat, but enthusiasts will certainly enjoy wandering around Krat in search of secrets and dangers.

Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles is a welcome innovation in the deck-building roguelike RPG genre, bringing dice instead of cards to put a unique spin on the gameplay mechanics. The dynamics of the dice add an element of probability and risk, making battles exciting and with touches of unpredictability. Furthermore, the game offers a wide variety of heroes, mechanics and strategies to explore. However, excessive complexity in some areas, such as the multitude of effects during battles and insufficient information in the interface, can hamper the experience. Over time, we learn to deal with these negative issues, but some adjustments to these aspects would make the runs more enjoyable. Overall, Astrea stands out as a captivating addition to the genre, requiring patience and dedication to master its nuances and make the most of its strategic depth.

7.5 / 10.0 - Thunder Ray
Sep 15, 2023

Thunder Ray is a well-constructed game, which pays due homage to Punch-Out, but with its own style. The fact that it was produced by a small team makes it even more admirable, but its duration is so short. It's inevitable and frustrating to want to play a few more matches, but not have more content to explore.

8.5 / 10.0 - Chants of Sennaar
Sep 15, 2023

Beautiful, intelligent, compelling, challenging and deeply human, Chants of Sennaar was to me a unique experience through its many faces. The concept of linguistic puzzles doesn't make it an adequate recommendation for every person, but those who like to explore the form and meaning of words, even if not through formal studies, should find satisfaction in deciphering the languages and its peoples who are simultaneously the lock and the key to this mysterious world.

The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo stands out notably due to its engaging art direction and captivating soundtrack. The experience is comparable to watching a masterpiece from the golden age of animation on film or television. However, as a game, it presents itself as a good choice to introduce the point and click genre to a generation that did not experience the golden age of gaming in the 1990s. Despite this, it is important to mention that the game may not provide content enough to impress us or mark our experience.

7 / 10.0 - Gunbrella
Sep 13, 2023

Gunbrella arouses curiosity with its unique concept of a weapon that combines a shotgun and umbrella. The versatility of this hybrid equipment is explored in visceral and challenging combat, and there are also sections of exploration that require intelligent use of the umbrella. It is an experience that has good moments, especially in combat and ambiance, but that fails to maintain a consistent level throughout its duration. The adventure is worth it, but it is important to be willing to overlook the problems.

8 / 10.0 - Pocket Bravery
Sep 13, 2023

Pocket Bravery doesn't present major innovations to the genre and may not reach the same highlight as big names in the industry. However, it's a charismatic fighting game with a distinctive art style, having captivating characters and a really interesting, well-written story. Though a few technical issues may hinder it, it offers a fun and functional mechanical experience. It's a great homage to fighting games and it shows the talent of yet another studio from our country.

8.5 / 10.0 - Summum Aeterna
Sep 13, 2023

Summum Aeterna doesn't revolutionize but it offers plenty of tools to amenize the usual issues of the roguelite games. The Aeternum Game Studios made an effort to add many elements that reduce the feeling of repetition and the limited design of the stages and managed to accomplish their mission. The combat is fast and pleasant and the high amount of upgrades and skills at the players' disposal help make each match unique. This way, it's worth a recommendation for all kinds of players, from the ones who are very invested in roguelites to those who aren't so intimate with the genre.

6.5 / 10.0 - WrestleQuest
Sep 12, 2023

In the end, I believe the balance is positive, especially due to the characters' charisma and the diverse customization elements for the combat. If there's an update fixing the issues, it's a definite recommendation.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy follows the formula and pleases, but it doesn't decide to take a step forward in its structure, nor in the shallow combat. Even so, the triad formed by the beautiful settings, the platform design with puzzles and the cooperative mode continues to be its biggest attraction, guaranteeing fun for veterans and newcomers to the saga of heroes who work as a team.

6.5 / 10.0 - Humankind
Sep 8, 2023

Humankind is, undeniably, a title rich in content and a great representative of its genre. However, unfortunately, its inadequate adaptation for consoles makes it just another example on the shelf of games that, perhaps, should have remained only on the PC.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is a love letter to the entire history of the franchise and elevates the work FromSoftware has done over the past 25 years, delighting veterans and newcomers alike. It's a safe project, in a way, because it keeps much of the gameplay loop of its predecessors intact; however, it manages to improve every aspect of these components, bringing a unique experience like few action games can do today. A great comeback from an IP that should never have been forgotten.

Making good use of visual effects to compose its combats full of magic and emotion, Immortals of Aveum manages to deliver an original and fun adventure. The fights offer many options for players, with various types of magic, equipment and special abilities, compensating for the game's many problems. It's a shame that more care was needed in these areas, but we still have a great title for for FPS fans.
